Holistic healing methods like energy healing can help in a lot of situations (that's one of the reasons I love being a distance energy healer). Here are some typical scenarios:
1. Ongoing Situations (health issues or external circumstances)
The aim is to give the client the capacity to cope comfortably with that persistent situation in their life. Healing work can be done to support people with long-term health issues (such as burnout, autoimmune disease or endometriosis, to name a few) or even external situations (like a job, difficult relationships, or caring for others).
For people in these circumstances, there usually isn’t a ‘one and done’ solution, and the healing work is more like maintenance, aiming to prevent overwhelm from a build-up of pressures. To use an analogy, regular weeding allows the whole garden to flourish, but infrequent weeding leads to more complex problems in the future.
2. Acute (temporary) issues (stress, injury or illness)
To be clear, I’m not a medical doctor and my work doesn’t replace medical advice from a qualified professional. Yet energy healing can sometimes still benefit temporary/acute issues – even those with known and obvious causes. The body-mind connection is generally accepted these days, but it really hit home when a kinesiologist friend of mine did a session on me a few years ago. I had backache, which to me was ‘obviously’ from overdoing it in a yoga class the day before. To my surprise, some recent emotional stress also showed as a factor when my classmate worked on me. Remember: we are holistic beings in that we (and even our backaches) are comprised of physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and energetic facets.
Meridians, chakras, aura layers, and emotions – energy imbalances in these areas can be a factor in your insomnia, your headaches, or your indigestion, for example. Rebalancing the energy helps the body-mind system to get back to normal, functioning so that you can feel healthy and positive again.
Case study: A repeat client of mine was going through some short-term, obvious, known stress at work: a huge workload and difficult clients. She normally loves going to her gym but found herself avoiding the gym and feeling irritated by her gym friends. She also had headaches and felt sleepy at odd times of the day. In her case, I found some emotional stresses to release, as well as an imbalance in one of her chakras. Energy healing on these aspects allowed her sleep and energy to normalise, which helped her mood as well, and she felt good about going back to the gym.
3. External Energies
Sometimes, ‘energy blocks’ come from outside us – from other people or places. This can show up in a variety of ways, for example: a mood that doesn't seem connected with any particular experience, or you might feel affected (drained, agitated or upset) by crowds, people, public areas, noise, media or even electronic devices. This can happen to anyone (though highly sensitive people, empaths and intuitives are typically more susceptible and can be more aware of this happening to them).
Our energy field extends beyond our body, so in crowded places our energies can mingle with external energies and we might sometimes pick something up that way. This isn’t ideal - but it is common. It’s nothing to be scared of – people just need ways to clear these residues and to protect themselves. This can often be done oneself (I give my clients practical tips) but sometimes you might need an energy healer’s help. I often find and release energies like this for my clients, and I check myself to make sure I’m clear of foreign energy residues.
